focussing on a dream

I am

shedding my husk

like the eight-legged inhabitants

of our attic

remembering the fragile

strangely familiar, wooly eggs

sticking behind a cardboard

my dreams are made of

silk and stone

and dusty roads

that summer I was

befriending dragonflies

and bees

this winter I am

connecting with lacy wings

turning from green to brown

delicate antennae

calling out for the tiniest

atmospheric change

I wished for the cold

and it hast crept in

so I  created a nest

I have to flee every morning
