the tears of a snowfish

have been uncried and unsung

until you step into a grey pudddle

bless those noisy rubber soles

surfing dark waters

the laughter of a snowqueen

is fillling the neighbourhood

bounces, ricochets, magnifies

after the plow trucks mowed

through red bricked streets

the heart of a snowfish

has been replaced and remade

from cloud dust and silver

unbound flocks of cirri

circling, celebrating, chirping

gales from Egypt

tag along the cruise

my heart is a vastland

imbued with snowmelt

distending as I shut my eyes

constringing when my ears are wide

I listen to the steady silence

borrowed from the North

a word of cold

to warm my head
